CIRCLE OF HOPE Installation

MEDIA: Conceptual Wall Installation

MATERIALS: Letters and pins

DIMENSIONS: 4×4 feet

PROCESS: For the occasion of the Art Benefit entitled Hoppe Blossoms, hosted at the Margulies Collection at the Warehouse, Gema Alava engaged in conversation with women residents of the Lotus House. They agreed to write letters about the meaning of hope, with the understanding that their thoughts would be turned into smaller pieces and incorporated in a wall art installation. Women residents of Lotus House in Miami and women from another shelter in New York participated in this process. The installation was auctioned during the art happening. All sales were directed to the shelter. More that 14 international artists participated in this Art Happening and Benefit.
