TRUST ME PRESENTATION, 2010
Instituto Cervantes, New York, NY

On May 14th, 2010, Gema Alava met individually in one of two museums with eleven participants who responded to her open call. Participants agreed to wear opaque glasses during the time Alava performed one-on-one verbal descriptions of artworks they could not see. Photographer Jason Schmidt was invited to document these performances.

Participants of Trust Me: ELLEN FISHER, MAYRAV FISHER, JONATHAN GOODMAN, JESSICA HIGGINS, ERIKA KAWALEK, ERIKA KNERR, ALISON KNOWLES, FERRAN MARTIN, J. MORRISON, GORDON SASAKI, and J.G. ZIMMERMAN.

On October 15th, 2010, at 6PM at the CERVANTES INSTITUTE in NEW YORK, NY, during a post-performance event, took place TRUST ME's PRESENTATION, where participants met each other for the first time and photographs taken by Schmidt were projected after the participants shared the experience of their particular walk-through with Alava.

PROCESS:

-THE PRESENTATION OF TRUST ME CONSISTED OF AN INTRODUCTION BY EDUARDO LAGO, DIRECTOR OF THE INSTITUTO CERVANTES IN NEW YORK FOLLOWED BY A ROUND TABLE MODERATED BY GEMA ALAVA IN COMPANY OF TRUST ME's PARTICIPANTS ELLEN FISHER, MAYRAV FISHER, JESSICA HIGGINS, ERIKA KAWALEK, ERIKA KNERR and J.G. ZIMMERMAN.
