Gema Álava had scheduled (before Coronavirus hit in March 2020) presentations of her performative lectures entitled “Inspiring Audiences” which connect the experiences of participants of her project Trust Me in Quito, Ecuador, and New York City, EEUU. Trust Me’s project was inspired by Alava’s work during a decade as a verbal descriptive guide for people who are blind or visually impaired.
These series of performative lectures INSPIRING AUDIENCES in English and Spanish are supported by the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Ecuador, PUCE, in Quito; the Dedalus Foundation and Art Beyond Sight, in New York City; and the World Council of Peoples for the United Nations.
